Celebration of the “Limnos Island. We insist!” Program
The event marking the culmination of the program “Limnos Island. We insist!” was full of energy and saw a turnout befitting its 8-month journey.
Places & Traces and the project team—comprising Despoina Vassiliadou, Alexandros Lambrovassilis, Maria Koumianou, and Raphael Giannellis, presented the project’s objectives and implementation steps: the workshops, interviews, student deliberations, and digital magazine created by the students on the SchoolPress platform.
The teams from the Myrina and Moudros General Upper Secondary Schools and the Myrina Vocational Upper Secondary School discussed their choice of topics and approach, as well as their conclusions and recommendations in the areas of Society, Health, Digital Resources, and Culture.
The discussion that followed was based on the students’ questions and was lively, with moments of genuine reflection.
We would like to thank the Mayor of Limnos, Ms. Eleonora Georga, for her message, as well as Deputy Mayors Ioanna-Elpida Diamatari, Vangelis Chasapis, Dimitris Boulotis (via video link), and Christos Pyromaglou; the President of the Limnos Medical Association, Ms. Eleni Farmaki-Marinaki; Dr. Thomas Loukas, a member of the Municipal Council; Mr. Chrysostomos Psarras and Father Anastasios, who represented the Holy Metropolis of Limnos and St. Eustratios, for their dynamic presence.
A big “thank you!” to LIMNOS FM 100 and Radio Limnos for highlighting our initiative.
The event was dedicated, with all our gratitude, to the memory of the Lemnian journalist Ilias Kotsalis.
The “Limnos Island. We insist!” project is being implemented with support from the Athina I. Martinou Foundation, as part of the “Points of Support” program, which is co-funded by 10 nonprofit organizations.

Γιορτή προγράμματος «Μένουμε Λήμνο!»
Η εκδήλωση για την κορύφωση του προγράμματος "Μένουμε Λήμνο!" είχε παλμό και συμμετοχή αντάξια της 8μηνης διαδρομής του.
Η Places & Traces και η ομάδα έργου, αποτελούμενη από τους Δέσποινα Βασιλειάδου, Αλέξανδρο Λαμπροβασίλη, Μαρία Κουμιανού και Ραφαήλ Γιαννέλη, παρουσίασαν τους στόχους και τα βήματα της υλοποίησης: τα εργαστήρια, τις συνεντεύξεις, τη μαθητική διαβούλευση και τα ψηφιακά τεύχη που δημιούργησαν οι μαθητές στην πλατφόρμα SchoolPress.
Οι ομάδες των ΓΕΛ Μύρινας και Μούδρου και του ΕΠΑΛ Μύρινας μίλησαν για την επιλογή και την προσέγγιση των θεματικών τους, τα συμπεράσματα και τις προτάσεις τους στους άξονες της Κοινωνίας, της Υγείας, των Ψηφιακών Πόρων και του Πολιτισμού.
Η συζήτηση που ακολούθησε βασίστηκε στις ερωτήσεις των παιδιών, είχε ζωντάνια και στιγμές γνήσιου προβληματισμού.
Ευχαριστούμε τη Δήμαρχο Λήμνου κ. Ελεονώρα Γεώργα για το μήνυμά της, για την παρουσία τους τους Αντιδημάρχους Ιωάννα-Ελπίδα Διαματάρη, Βαγγέλη Χασάπη, Δημήτρη Μπουλώτη (εξ αποστάσεως) και Χρήστο Πυρομάγλου, την Πρόεδρο του Ιατρικού Συλλόγου Λήμνου, κ. Ελένη Φαρμάκη-Μαρινάκη, τον γιατρό και μέλος του Δημ. Συμβουλίου Θωμά Λούκα, τον κ. Χρυσόστομο Ψάρρα και τον πατέρα Αναστάσιο, που εκπροσώπησε την Ι.Μ. Λήμνου και Αγ. Ευστρατίου, για τη δυναμική παρουσία τους.
Μεγάλο "ευχαριστώ!" στα ΛΗΜΝΟΣ FM 100 και Ράδιο Λήμνος για την ανάδειξη της δράσης μας.
Η εκδήλωση ήταν αφιερωμένη, με όλη μας την ευγνωμοσύνη, στη μνήμη του Λημνιού δημοσιογράφου Ηλία Κότσαλη.
Το έργο "Μένουμε Λήμνο!" υλοποιείται με υποστήριξη από το Ίδρυμα Αθηνάς Μαρτίνου (Athina I. Martinou Foundation), στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος Σημεία Στήριξης – Points of Support που συγχρηματοδοτούν 10 κοινωφελείς οργανισμοί.
